I decided to write this blog post to promote my new short script. It is based on one of Chekhov’s short stories. “A Happy Man” is one of Anton Chekhov’s lighter stories. It is a lighthearted story of a man who drops his wife off at the train to begin their honeymoon, then gets off the train to get a drink. Why drink one when two are available, he reasons, and quickly downs a second. In his tipsy state, he seeks to be reunited with his new bride. Unfortunately, he travels up and down the train only to discover that he has boarded a train heading in the wrong direction.
The poor protagonist. He has been expounding on happiness, which he himself created for himself, he avers. Weeping and sorrow ensues, until some friendly travelers give him the money to travel back to catch up with his wife. Lovers of Chekhov will enjoy this short adaptation, which strives to maintain the theme and the characterization of the happy/unhappy husband. Writers will appreciate the difficulty in maintaining the theme, while updating the storyline. Take a look at the adapted work and see what you think. I value your input. Is the character true to form? Does the story keep its essentials, while setting it in modern times? Read the adaptation at www.CharTierney.com #AntonChekhov #Chekhov #WritersLife #ShortScripts I read a book about some Jewish survivors of the Holocaust, whose family had been killed during those terrible days. Suddenly, Yahweh said to me, "Do you remember that I said not to take revenge, and that vengeance is mine?"
Yes, I do remember that. Both in Deuteronomy and Romans it is mentioned: "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. "On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” (Book of Romans in the New Testament) Yahweh asked me, "What has Israel done to avenge themselves from what was done to them in the Holocaust?" I had to think about it. There were the Nuremberg Trials, but they are less than a drop in the bucket to what was done to them. I said, "Nothing really. They have not avenged themselves." "No," he said. "They have not. I will have vengeance on Europe for what they did to My people. I will pour out on them twofold what they have done." He reminded me of the prophetic writings in the books of Daniel and Revelations, which speak of a time that ten nations will come to power. By nations, I understand that he means groups of people. He means Muslim groups of people, those who are devoted to Islam. They will be given an hour of power from him in which they will move through Europe, and he will be avenged for what the Europeans did to his people. They will also help to bring an end to religiosity. He asked me, "What is the first thing that you think I will do to prepare for this to happen?" I didn't know. He said, "I will take American troops out of Germany." Tough times are coming. Very serious, tough, times are coming to Europe and across the world. Europe will suffer, America will suffer, and there will be war and tragedy across the world unseen in one time on earth. The era will be known for a lack of mercy, and the many cruelties. Europe and others will be paid back for the suffering they caused, just as the Egyptians were repaid for their actions in times long ago. America will have its own troubles, but it in the end it will prevail. Th Jews in Israel will be frightened, but their God is faithful. There will be restoration in the end between the descendants of Abraham, on both sides of the family. Italy will be preserved also but it will suffer deeply. These three nations will be a foundation upon what God builds for the future. He will set a foundation of law, followed by an understanding of love, and finally, the establishment of freedom for all people across the world. People must seek him and pray for one another. Learn to love others as you love yourself. In the days of wrath that lie ahead, for many it will be terrible. There will be misery and fear. Yet we can trust God because the world will emerge stronger when his will of love is done on earth, just as it is in heaven. He said that the European nations who suffer the least will be those who had the tightest immigration laws because the peoples of Islam will be stirred up to take vengeance and violence will abound. Finally, freedom-loving Poland will be helped and blessed and repaid from the sufferings inflicted on them by the western betrayal. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. All his motives are love, and the way back into his love and presence and goodwill is through repentance for wrong doings. Do not think that God is against the Muslims, or the Catholics, or Christians, or Buddhists, or Mormons, or atheists. God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his Son to bear the consequences of all our sins. This means that he loves each of us. The coming holocaust, and struggles for liberty, will pass and a new, peaceful, and prosperous age will come to the earth at long last. References: Deuteronomy 32 Romans 12 Daniel 2:31-35, 40-45; 7:7-8, 19-24 Revelations 13:1-2; 17:3, 7, 12-16 John 3:16 Black Lives Matter. Every single one. Blacks have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This right comes from God, and is unalienable. They can not be separated from their rights. If every American does not believe this already, they must. In the words (style) of Joe Biden, "If they don't believe this, they ain't American." Blacks have the exact same rights as every other American and they must be treated as well as, or the same as, every other American. This we hold to be self evident. Because of this, I, and should every other American, fully support The Black Lives Matter movement. Martin Luther King Jr. is an American hero. He should be honored and treasured and his words and actions studied in American schools. America must support his values and his dream. The two-term election of the first black President, Barack Obama, and the underlying support for the Black Lives Matter movement show that America at heart does wish to support the dream of Martin Luther King Jr. and to honor the truth that black lives do matter. In one sense, America feels guilty and on another level America wants to make amends. By voting for Barack Obama, and now by supporting the uplifted voices of those who express the value of black lives and point out the inequalities that have happened in this country, America seeks to make amends. Some wonder if reparations are the appropriate action at this point, but I think there is a more viable way forward. A cancel culture has arisen that strives to silence anyone who even appears to disagree with the noble and democratic goal of equality. Cancel culture can be nasty. Innocent people get caught up in its wake. But then, many innocent people were lynched in the nasty culture of oppressing blacks in America. America can survive cancel culture. Conservatives, progressives, and all Americans need to act as mature adults and bear the slings and disagreements that come their way as two sides battle for their ideals to remain, or become established. Instead of battling, we must seek for unity and a maturing of the American dream for all. Cancel culture needs to reach its fulfillment. It is obvious that in America there is one group that has been more egregious than any other in causing harm to black lives. That group needs to be canceled permanently, never to return. That group is the Democrat Party. The Civil War, the Jim Crow laws, the KKK, the lynching of the innocent, the oppression of blacks, and so many other evils against blacks can be traced directly back to the Democrat Party. They need to be canceled. In its place, we need a new party that will honestly and without bias look to the good of all Americans: black, white, every color, gender, and culture. This party could be called the Civil Rights Party. Conservatives will be attracted because its basis will be the Constitution of the United States. Liberals, Progressives, and Independents will be attracted because it genuinely would be dedicated to the civil rights of all, and for an honest and just America. Forget the Democrat Party. Let them be canceled. Let the Republican Party stand for themselves, the best they can. Let the new party, the Civil Rights Party, draw from both sides of the aisle. Let's build something new based on the ideals of the Constitution, on the ideals of America. Build something that brings unity, and then let us go forward into an America future as she was meant to be, as our Founders envisioned, as the best among us envision in their hearts in the current day. #CivilRightsParty #CancelCulture #BlackLivesMatter #LawandOrderMatter #KimKlavik I saw Yahweh sitting on a floor. He was putting things together in front of him. He was rearranging pieces, looking at them, and then rearranging them again. He patiently leaned over the puzzle and moved pieces from place to place. It reminded me of a friend preparing a lesson plan for her students. She puts something down, adds more, then rearranges how she wants to present the plan. At the end, she has all the elements of the lesson plan assembled, and she is ready to teach the material. I saw that what Yahweh is doing is arranging how he wants to approach what he does next in the world. What he does will also be a teaching lesson for the world. Each of the pieces he held were green or blue and had different scenes on them. They looked like little pieces of the world, and he was rearranging them into the constructs of a flat map. I have a little puppy named Jedi. His name means beloved of God. His father is my dog, Buddy. I named him Buddy because I wanted a name that means friendship. I got Jedi when he was five weeks old because the mother stopped feeding him. He was the runt of the litter, which made him popular with humans. He was so little and cute that everyone held him. As a consequence, he is a trusting little soul, and he likes and trusts everyone. So, for now, I have a little dog pack of two.
Jedi is brave and will obviously be dominant once he grows older. He will probably be about the same size as his father when he is full grown. Dogs are loyal and dogs are service animals. They are happiest when they have tasks to fulfill. For instance, Buddy considers himself to be the guardian of the property and therefore it is his express purpose to bark at intruders. Sometimes the so-called intruder is a person walking by or the woman across the street working in her yard. However! He carries out his duties enthusiastically. Jedi is brave. The other day he heard the vacuum for the first time. I thought he would run under the bed, or perhaps bark. He did neither. He remained calm because Buddy was calm. After about five minutes, Jedi came to me to pick him up and he snuggled onto my chest. If Buddy plays too rough with him, after a while Jedi will come and seek comfort and safety under my feet or beg me to pick him up again. If I am leaning back, he will leap onto my chest and settle there. When I am busy, sometimes I tie him up in a scarf and carry him close under my neck, where he sleeps soundly. A few days ago, I was calling out to someone, and I had to shout because they were at a distance. While I was shouting, Jedi scooched up and snuggled his head into my neck. Older dogs will look at you if you shout. The look to see if you are shouting about them. Are they in trouble? But Jedi is too innocent and inexperienced to have an opinion about what I am doing. I am the mama figure and that is all he knows; and the safety and security of being held. Yesterday, he was laying on me taking a nap, while I was working on the computer. Suddenly, Yahweh came up behind me and was looking over my shoulder at the little puppy. I saw the great qualities in Jedi of loyalty and service and bravery. Then Yahweh said, "when he grows, he will be powerful. He won't be big because that is not in his genes, but he will have a strong personality." Yahweh continued, "When he lifts his head and finally really sees you, his bravery and loyalty and his desire for service will be for you." That is true. That is how it works. Dogs love their owners, some of whom they consider to be the pack leader. What pleasant and useful companions are dogs. Then, Yahweh said, "I am only a chest to many people. They come to me with their prayers for healing and help. They come to me for comfort, which I give to them. All the while I look at them and see their great potential which can never reach its fulness except in me. If only they would lift their head and see me. If they would, all their gifts, all their love and loyalty, all that is within them, will be towards me. They will look to see what I am doing. They will want to know my will - not only my will about their life and situations in particular, but they will want to know what I am doing, what I am thinking, and what plans I have. I am glad for people to seek me for answers and for comfort. But I yearn for the day that they open their eyes and really see me." The chest of God. There is no greater resting place. Yet, let us go beyond that which is safe and comforting to us, and look and listen to hear his will and his words. He is there, ready to connect with us, lead us, and teach us how to really live. The Apostle Paul said that when he was a child, he thought like a child. We must leave our childhood and enter into a mature relationship with God and be about his business, just as he shows it to us. God is not looking for religiosity. He is looking for friendship. As I write various religious texts, people wonder why I call God, Yahweh. I call him that because Yahweh is his name. I went to all 50 US states by his leading. I went to the first 19 states with my sister Silvana, and to other states with my sisters, Therese, and Dana. The last state we went to, in 2018, was Hawaii. There, on the beach, I read from II Peter 3, as we had in every state.
Peter asks in that chapter, what manner of men ought we to be? The answer is that we should be godly and holy and speed the return of Jesus. This question was also said to the spiritual beings in every state. Are they ready for the return of Jesus? In Hawaii, right after I finished reading the chapter, Yahweh spoke to me. He said, "Char, you went to all 50 states for me. You are my friend. Please call me by my name." This is why I call God, the Heavenly Father, “Yahweh”. I encourage you to do the same. God wants our friendship. He wants to hear us and help us, and he wants us to hear him and help him. He wants a mutual, loving relationship with every being he has created, which is all of us. He is my friend. I call him Yahweh. Please feel free to do so too. Earlier this week, Yahweh showed me a book in his hands. He was at the end of the first chapter. Yahweh closed that chapter and opened another. The new chapter had three or four pages. Each page had scenarios on it, front and back. This chapter is a continuation of the prior one, but with new judgments, experiences, dangers, and help from him. Like the first chapter, it is global in scope.
The "first pestilence," as it was called by Yahweh, was in the first chapter. This was the coronavirus, or COVID-19. Yahweh used it to set up the Age of the Individual. There will be more of this in the second chapter. There will be more separation as he prepares us for what is to come. The world will be faced with the testing of evil, and it will be up to each individual and each nation to choose good and refuse to act on the evil choices, no matter how severe the temptations. Although the coronavirus brought death, there was grace in the midst of it. There were many stories of people helping one another, and there were also stories of selfishness and avarice in the midst of the crisis. The name-calling was particularly nasty. It is hard not to despise the media. How far they have fallen. Their ways are evil. Nurses prayed on the rooftops of the hospital they worked in, for the patients and the staff. One said, "we felt God in the wind." I also have seen him in the wind many times recently. That is new to me. Doctors and nurses prayed on their knees for God's help. In the midst of the peril, there was faith and hope and trust. Our God is trustworthy, and many know this to be true. Others mocked such trust in a Being they refuse to acknowledge. The next chapter is more dangerous and will be more trying. Fear will increase for those who do not have the faith that was exhibited by many in the first chapter. I have a friend in Africa, Pastor John, in Uganda. His faith was steady. He told me that all the radio stations and television shows in his nation are urging people to seek God and repent of any evil they have done or are doing. What a sensible response. This trust will be needed in the days ahead as events intensify. Pestilence, war, disasters lie ahead. I spoke with my doctor on the phone. He said, "People are learning that money is not as important as they thought. It is their lives and what is within them that matters." How true. Still, Yahweh will hear the prayers of those who seek him. Not to stop what he brings, for this testing was long foretold, but to help those who seek his presence. As he said, this calls for the patient endurance of the saints. I hope he is pleased with what he sees in humanity, and the trust in him, but I know that wickedness will increase as evil continues to flood the earth. We are back to the beginning (in the Garden of Eden) and we must understand the import of good and evil and choose the good. Only by rejection of evil will we reach the end. In the meantime, evil will grow stronger and stronger, until we finally cry out, enough! and repent of our ways. Then, he will help us. However, the world will never return to what it was. But, considering the murders of the innocent, the murders through the gangs and the violent, it should never return. We will be far better off. It is just that it will take patience to get to where we need to be. The next chapter will help guide us, just not in the very gentle way that we like to be led and taught. Yahweh has been talking about the Age of the Individual. He said that the Age of the Church was passing and that another age was beginning. When he told me that the Age of the Church was passing, I was stunned. I had assumed that the Age of the Church was permanent and at least would last until Jesus returned. Of course, I waited on him until I fully understood and over time the Holy Spirit made clear what Yahweh was showing.
The Holy Spirit said that there was the Age of the Jews, or the Age of Israel. That is true. Yahweh was with them from the calling of Abraham until Jesus was born. Israel had ups and downs, depending on how close they were to Yahweh and how much they obeyed his laws and did his will, but he was faithful to them, and his attention was on them. They were the apple of his eye. He did many miracles and wonders among them, and he established Jerusalem as their capital. The Holy Spirit said that Israel remains the apple of his eye. He loves them deeply but when Jesus died the Age of the Jews was fulfilled. Jesus came and did exactly what he was born to do: he became the Passover lamb that was sacrificed for sin. That is why Jesus said, "It is finished" when he was on the cross. He paid the price for the sin of all, and that task was finished. Forgiveness for sin is now available to everyone in his name and through his action. Then, God sent an apostle to bring the message of the new age. The new age was the Age of Grace, as preached by the Apostle Paul. This was also the Age of the Church. The Church Age lasted for approximately 2000 years. In this time, many churches and nations were built upon the gospel of Jesus. The Catholic Church was established, and from it came the Protestant Church and then later the Mormon Church and other branches. Protestants don't give much credit to the Catholic Church, and none to the Mormons. However, without the Catholic Church, all the Protestant Churches would not have come into being. The Catholic Church is in the foundation of the Church universal (which is what catholic means), just as Israel is the foundation of the Church Age. First the law through Moses, then the sacrifice and message of love through Jesus, and now the new Age of the Individual. In this age, people will discover their purpose and friendship with God, and find fulfillment in their lives. The Church was built on the foundation of Jesus Christ, and built up by apostles, prophets evangelists, pastors, and teachers over the years. Yahweh and Jesus have heard the prayers of the Church and moved among them with miracles and wonders, just as God moved among Israel. Each particular church in the present day has some degree of loyalty towards God and tries to follow his ways, just as the Jews are loyal to him and try to keep the laws that he gave to Moses so many years ago. There is only one God, and Yahweh is that God, and he is the God of all. But now, the Church is not particularly faithful to Yahweh, nor to Jesus. Neither are the Jews. They both try to keep the laws that they believe in (Old Testament versus New Testament) but neither seeks Yahweh about what is happening today. They think they know what his will is and they stay within the confines of what they think, what they believe. The vast majority have no idea about the new Age that has arrived. No, it is not "the new age" so feared by the Church. It is the Age of the Individual. It is based on the gospel as articulated in John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall have everlasting life. Jesus is returning to the world that he loves. Jesus is not returning only to believers, because by the time all is said and done, everyone will be believers. When Jesus returns as he promised, no one will be able to think that he is not God. The evidence will be too overwhelming. The Jews will know that God has been faithful, the Church will know that God has been faithful, and each person will know that God will joyfully enter into a personal relationship with them. There will be rejoicing and there will be bitterness. Jesus will rule with a rod of iron, which means that he will have standards and demand that they are followed. Thou shalt not kill will be enforced, as will other commandments. Jesus told me one time that when he returns, he will start a "War on Murder" (like the War on Terror, which at its heart is meant to be a war for liberty and against terrorism) and that killers and their families will be held accountable until the whole world understands and agrees that murder is something that no one shalt do. It is Yahweh's will that we shall not murder, and the world will come to understand and respect that. In preparation for the new age, God is allowing us to be driven apart, into individual status. The coronavirus, the first pestilence from him, is pushing the whole world to stand as individuals. Nations all over the world are telling people to stay home with their families. We are learning to stand six feet apart, to be self-reliant, to do what we can in order to care for our families and our communities. We have been pushed into social distancing, where online contact is the safest contact. This is perfect preparation for Jesus to be on earth. People all over the world will follow his every move via the internet. Yahweh is brilliant. Never forget that. Stand for good in the days ahead. The world will strive for global unity, but their efforts will lead to nothing but trouble. Under Jesus' leading, we will have a united world made up of individual people and individual nations. The seeds for that have already been planted. Did I mention that God is brilliant? |
